Wyoming Artisan Art
Meet the Maker
A Wyoming Artist's Journey
Discover the artistry behind our one-of-a-kind charcuterie boards.
From humble beginnings at the base of the Seirra Madra Mountains in southern Wyoming, Wyoming Artisan Art has blossomed into a vibrant expression of abstract resin art and functional charcuterie boards. I'm Marcy, the artist and I am inspired by the stunning landscapes and diverse cultures of the American West, I create individual heirlooms that evoke a sense of depth, movement, and rhythm.
My charcuterie boards are not only functional but also artistically one-of-a-kind and numbered for authenticity. Each board is crafted with precision and attention to detail, ensuring both durability and beauty. The unique combination of wood, resin, and other materials results in a piece that is as practical as it is stunning.
As for my resin art, each piece is a unique exploration of color, texture, and form. The process is both suspenseful and exhilarating, as I watch the resin flow and transform before my eyes. The final result is a captivating composition that invites the viewer to journey through its layered depths.
My art is a reflection of my passion for creativity and my love for the natural world. Join me on this artistic adventure and discover the beauty of abstract resin art and functional pieces that evoke true expression.
How it’s Made
The Story Behind Our Handmade Charcuterie Cheese Boards
Crafting our handmade boards is a labor of love, guided by a deep commitment to quality, artistry, and sustainability. Each board is more than just a functional item; it’s a work of art designed to elevate your serving or culinary experiences. Here’s a glimpse into our meticulous process:
Selecting the Perfect Wood
Our journey begins with an uncompromising dedication to sourcing the finest wood. Only solid, natural, and food-safe wood makes the cut. Veneered, stained, or chemically treated options are never considered. We collaborate with small, family-owned mills, particularly in Washington State, fostering relationships with reliable suppliers who share our values.
Once the wood arrives at our Wyoming studio, each piece undergoes a thorough hand inspection. This ensures it meets our exacting standards for both quality and craftsmanship. While some of our boards hail from Canada, we primarily source from a family business operated by two brothers in Easton, Maryland, further reinforcing our commitment to supporting small, artisanal enterprises.
The Art of Epoxy Resin
After an extensive search for the perfect resin, we chose a family-owned company in Florida with over 60 years of expertise. Their resin stood out for several reasons:
UV Resistance: Ensures the resin remains clear and brilliant over time.
Food-Safe Certification: Tested and certified for food contact once cured.
Mirror-Like Gloss: Offers an ultra-gloss finish that enhances the beauty of each piece.
This resin, proudly made in the USA, forms the foundation for our vibrant and durable designs.
Eco-Conscious Color Pigments
Our pigments are as thoughtfully chosen as our wood and resin. We work with a Florida-based company that provides vegan, cruelty-free, and ethically sourced pigments. These colors, blended with the resin and layered onto the boards, bring our visions to life while ensuring safety and sustainability.
In the Studio: Preparing for Artistry
Each board is carefully cleaned and prepped in our studio. The backs are taped to simplify cleanup, and the boards are leveled to ensure the resin flows and cures perfectly. This groundwork sets the stage for the magic to come.
Final Finishing Touches
After curing for 24-36 hours, the boards are sanded for a smooth finish. Each piece is then engraved with our brand and numbered to signify its authenticity and originality. Personalized engravings can also be added upon request.
Showcasing the Finished Work
Before a board is ready to find its home, we photograph it, write a detailed product description, and upload it to our website, WyomingArtisanArt.com. Additionally, our boards are displayed and sold online at WyomingArtisanArt.com and at two gallery locations: Works of Wyoming in Laramie, WY, and Studio T Art Gallery in Saratoga, WY.
A Legacy of Craftsmanship
Our handmade boards are a testament to our passion for artistry and dedication to excellence. From responsibly sourced materials to intricate finishing details, each board reflects our belief in creating beautiful, lasting pieces that bring joy to your table.
